Can I argue for my grades? If so, how?

Hi there!

Well you have two directions: Argue or not argue.

I would say if you have very high confidence and evidence about how you deserve a different grade, then go for it. If not, then you should think about how nice the teacher is and how flexible they are about changing grades (you wouldn’t want to get on a teacher’s bad side).

So, how to argue...

  • Gather your evidence.

  • Speak with a confident tone but also with respect.

  • Explain why you deserve a different grade and how you thought it over closely.

  • If your teacher rejects you immediately, then don’t push it. However, if your teacher shows some signs of hesitation, then give them some time and back up with more information. Be flexible!

Hope this helps,
