Unfortunately, it doesn’t work, just memorize.
As a IB Spanish HL student, all the best consejos (advices) that I can give you is to memorize the regular -AR, -ER, -IR verbs first, and then move on to the irregular verbs. Once you have mastered this tense, congrats, you only got 4762934768679 more tenses to go.
