How do I make dumplings?

Hello Friend!

To make a dumpling you need dough, filling, and most importantly the ability to mush the dough and filling together to make a dumpling.

Here’s a recipe for the filling and the dough.

Dough:

  1. Mix 4 cups of flour, 1 teaspoon of salt, and the warm water and mix until well-combined.

  2. Knead the dough on a floured surface until smooth.

  3. Divide the dough into 4 equal parts.

  4. Roll out 1 piece of dough into a thin log and divide it into 6-8 pieces (depending on what size dumpling you want).

  5. Repeat step 4 with the other 3 dough portions.

  6. Flour the dough pieces and roll out each piece into a flat circle roughly 10 cm in diameter.

Filling:

There are many dumpling fillings; however, here are some of the classics:

“The Ability to Mush Them Together into a Dumpling”:

1. Put roughly 1 tablespoon of filling onto the centre of the dumpling

2. Fold the wrap in half and pinch the wrapper at one bottom corner

3. Take the dumpling wrapper the furthest away from you, and pleat it towards the corner you just pinched.

4. Continue pleating until the whole dumpling is sealed.

And congratulations! You’ve just made a dumpling.

Good Luck!
