Dear Client,
I personally believe that the ship of Theseus is in fact the same ship as before all of its parts were replaced. Although the original physical record of the ship is gone, the memories and stories attributed to the ship would not be gone until all those who knew the ship for what it was disappeared along with the ship. I believe that an object’s identity is a direct result of its user. For example, a weapon at a crime scene would be a clue that leads to a suspect and I believe that the same can be said about a ship. A ship’s identity comes from its crew and even after all the parts of the ship of Theseus are replaced, it is still the same ship if a member of its crew could recognize it and connect the ship to its original form.
Sincerely,
Dear Letterbox
